Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies


2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margerine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup chocolate chips

1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a large bowl or mixer, beat all ingredients except oats, flour, and chocolate chips.
Stir in oats, flour, and chocolate chips.
3. On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded
tablespoonfuls about two inches apart.
4. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until light brown.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
